High a’top any visitors list of must-see places in Hilton Head starts with, “what’s new and what’s changed since our last visit?” And while there are plenty of new additions to the island (like the new Coligny beach park), nothing has been more important then the renovation of Palmetto Bay Marina. After years of disarray and damage, visitors and residents have a new outlook on Palmetto Bay Marina today. We are hashtagging it #TheBayIsBack.

Palmetto Bay Renovations & New Docks

The newest developments at Palmetto Bay Marina include a wide sweeping cleanup and overhaul of the property including renovation of the restrooms, resurfacing of the patio and outside dining area, plus landscaping and new signage.

Of course, the biggest notable change at the marina is the reconstruction of the docks and marina front. The new marina operation will include enough boat slips for 144, marine fueling system, electrical hook ups, and ship store located in the dockside gazebo. Phase 1 of the new docks is scheduled for completion by March 2020. Phase 2 (eastside) will begin in 2021.

Put Palmetto Bay Marina on your vacation itinerary

Part of what makes Hilton head so unique are its various waterfront locations and shops around town. At Palmetto Bay Marina, visitors will find a complete lineup of watersports and outdoor activities along with some of the best dining on the island. Wake up with an early morning paddleboard, kayak, or guided mini-boat tour on the calm Broad Creek in search of the perfect sunrise and playful dolphins. Afterwards, you’ll want to hop over to the Palmetto Bay Sunrise Café to enjoy full service breakfast, brunch, and lunch served daily. The marina offers a great selection of the some best ways to get outside and explore the Lowcountry!
